In the case of a serious injury
Or illness, it’s important to
Watch for signs of shock
Here I’ll explain more to you
Shock is a life-threatening condition
That occurs when the circulatory system
Fails and, as a result, deprives
The vital organs of oxygen to them
I’m talking now about severe
Blood loss, but can also happen
After burns, vomiting, heart attack
Bacterial infection or allergic reaction
Signs of shock to look for
Pale, cold, clammy skin
Sweating, rapid, shallow breathing
But with knowledge you can win
Weakness, dizziness, feeling sick
Possibly vomiting and thirst
Yawning, sighing if you notice any signs
Of shock seek medical help first
As soon as possible ring an
Emergency dial and then talk
Tell them you need an ambulance
For a casualty you think is in shock.
Treat any obvious injuries
Lay the person down when no beds
But only if their injuries allow you to
And raise and support their legs
Use a coat or blanket to keep them
Warm, but not smothered and think
Give lots of comfort and reassurance
Don’t allow to eat anything or drink
Monitor the person and if they
Stop breathing, start CPR
30 compressions then Two breaths
Just be careful not to push down too far
If they start breathing that’s great
Now for next part of your mission
Until a qualified personnel arrives you must
Put them into recovery position
